Thanks so much, Kim *hugs* I'm thrilled that you enjoyed this. I read a book with a character who had ALS in it, which is where part of this plot bunny came from. It really is a terrible think to live with. Of course I knew about Stephen Hawking before last year, but when I saw 'The Theory of Everything' and was truly inspired. What an incredible human being, to have the will to go on and on and on. It struck me as a very difficult illness to see a loved one live with. Brian has such a dysfunctional relationship with his family that I was curious to see what would happen if I threw this into the mix. I really think Brian does have a sense of responsibility for his family. I think he loves them, despite everything. It's such a contrast to the way Justin was brought up. There were so many interesting angles to look at.
Anyway, I am very happy you enjoyed this. Writing it reminded me of why I like writing, and my New Years Resolution is to do more of it *hugs*
