Thank you!! I'm not a parent, so this comment means a lot to me, that I hit the nail on the head somewhere! I wasn't trying to vilify anyone, but I could also see Lindsay, in particular, being the more "guilt-trip"-driven parent to keep Gus close, and I wanted Brian (vis-a-vis Justin, initially) to have the opportunity to prove that he's "in it" just as much as the girls have been. (And I feel that being an active parent would have been a huge part of Brian's personal journey, along with strengthening his relationship with Justin - hence him being a bit softer and more open to expression of love/emotion).
